Nicaragua

We visited Waspan in March and we gave a mini-workshop to young girls and women who had never heard of washable pads. They were delighted to think how much money they will save and they were excited for the beautiful prints and softness.

The girls took some for themselves and some of mothers, aunties and even grandmothers!

Most of these girls do not have running water nor electricity at home, but they do not mind at all to wash their pads in the Coco river!

We met the first girl on the left in the morning while she did her grandparents laundry in the river coco. A good excuse to jump in too, which she did when she was done with work!
